Description
Lítha is a Gaelic festival on Summer. Normally the solstice is on 21 June but people united it with midsummer day which is on 24 June. This is the longest day (and of course the shortest night) in the year but also from this day the daytimes will be shorter and shorter.
It's a tradition to vault a fire to the wheat grow higher. They used to roll down a flaming wheel from a hill as a symbol of the fall of the sun. The wells must be stinked out to banish the dragons and evil creatures away.
I did this with watercolor, colored pencils and felt-tip pen.
